During his kick-off keynote at the VLSI2009 Conference, LSI Corp. CEO Abhi Talwakar said "India possesses a unique combination of enablers that can greatly elevate its role into the future."

Talwalkar also mentioned that talent needs more discipline as well as more expertise in the areas of [embedded] software and firmware and VLSI design.

Hi,
Yes, India has the enablers.. but we have to un-earth it. In my openion the biggest problem we face is related to the higher education system in India. One has to appreciate the difference between learning equations and making something work!
Another major problem is also related to the educational system, where results are important than understanding. This do reflect in our work standards. Most of us try to get out of a problem some how. It will not be through a good understanding of the overall system. Unless we understand the bigger picture, how can we improve the working standard?
We do have a lot of enablers, but we need to work a little to get the benefits in long term..
