| Longer Introduction of Blog Owner: |
Nitin has spent over 25 years specializing in communicating complex technology and management issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. With this expertise he now advises electronics and technology companies around the world on how to build their awareness and brand among the engineering and investor community (see www.techspark.com), and is involved in publishing resources for high-tech entrepreneurs, investors and advisors (see www.thechilli.com).
After graduating in electronic engineering and spending time as a technical support engineer at National Semiconductor, he took up editorship of Silicon Design, a magazine focused on ASICs, FPGAs, EDA and related topics. He then moved through various consulting roles with companies like Telemecanique, Weidmuller and Macro Group, before moving to more substantial marketing and communications roles within Marconi Instruments and GEC Plessey Semiconductor.
He then joined a start-up, ARC Cores (which later became ARC International), and was one of the key team to take the company to a successful IPO on the London Stock Exchange, just before the market crash at the end of 2000.
In a parallel path to his career, Nitin first started writing about the Indian electronics and telecommunications industry for international publications back in 1993, when he interviewed N. Vittal, then the secretary for the depart of electronics and soon afterwards the secretary for the department of telecommunications.
Since then he followed developments in Indian business and technology and has published several articles and newsletters. In the 1990s, he was on the advisory board for Mobile Asia Pacific, with his focus on India, and published technical and business articles regularly in publications like International Broadcasting, Asian Communications, Electronics Times and Electronics Weekly. For two years in the mid 1990s, he also produced and published a fortnightly newsletter highlighting economic and investment opportunities in India, in which he published an interview with the then Finance Minister, Manmohan Singh.
Nitin Dahad currently works with fabless semiconductor companies, wireless, technology and IT companies and has been involved in everything ranging from automotive electronics, industrial electronics, digital radio, mobile TV, IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee, and embedded software and tools. He also carries out public service, serving on the board of governors at a UK university. In his spare time he is also very actively involved in developing the activities of the UK抯 Rajasthani community.
