Syed Mohammed Khasim earned a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering in 2001 from BMS college of Engineering, Bangalore, India. He started his career in 2001 with Linux devices for Single board computers and TI DSP applications and solutions. In 2004, Khasim started working as a Linux consultant for OMAP series of processors and contributed more than 150 OMAP patches to Linux Kernel.org. In 2007, Khasim joined as a Technical Lead for Open Platforms in DSP/Catalog applications division of TI.
In the last couple of years, Khasim has pioneered and lead various initiatives in TI to meet the increase in demand for Mobile Linux on TI chipsets and processors. He is an open source evangelist and a Core Team member from beagleboard.org. Latest, he has conceptualised and initiated hawkboard.org an open community portal for AM1808/OMAP L 138 (ARM9 and Floating Point DSP) applications. He is listed as Maintainer in Linux 2.6_kernel/MAINTAINERS.
