I am a graduate in Electronics Engineering. I completed my BE in Electronics & Communication Engineering with Honours from College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University in 1986. My first job was at Indchem Electronics Limited at Chennai, where I worked on designing terminals.
I joined Wipro抯 R&D in 1988. I was involved in the development of various drivers like tape drivers, serial communication drivers for Wipro抯 Unix based products. In 1990, I went to Intel to work on the DPMI implementation and Virtual 86 monitors and worked for various activities for Intel in the areas of microkernels, device drivers etc. Later, I led the effort to design multiport line adaptors for various networking equipments like Frame Relay switches, ATM switches, WAN routers for customers like Cisco, Stratacom. I was the founding member of the Cisco group in Wipro, which grew to one of the largest ODCs in Wipro.
In the year 2000, I joined MindTree Consulting and have been involved in building its networking and system software capabilities from then. I led the development of VoIP products at MindTree. I was responsible for the Communication Industry group and built core competencies and industry leadership in network processor technologies and IP forwarding. For the last two years, I am heading the group that incubates newer technologies like Multicore. I am very passionate about multicore technologies and how it is going to redefine the way programming is done today.
I spend my leisure reading listening to Indian classical music, experimenting with photography and spending time with family.
